RUMORED BUZZ ON DUTCH INFLUENCE IN JAVA

Indonesia alleged that Fretilin was communist, and feared that an impartial East Timor would influence separatism during the archipelago. Indonesian armed service intelligence influenced the break-up from the alliance amongst Fretilin and UDT, which brought about a coup via the UDT on 11 August 1975 and the beginning of a month-extended civil war.
